77th OAPEC Council of Ministers Meeting
His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of State, Chairman of the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) headed Bahrain’s delegation to the 77th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), which was held in Cairo on Saturday, 2nd December 2006.
The agenda of the meeting included several items, the foremost of which was OAPEC’s budget for 2007 (General Secretariat and Judicial Committee); OAPEC’s 2006 Award for Scientific Research; progress in the Databank; environmental affairs; seminars and meetings organized by OAPEC or in which it participated; the five studies
made by OAPEC on refining and improvement of profitability in this industry; development of differential in prices between light and heavy oils and the future trend thereof; the growing role of both China and India in international petroleum markets; the activities of OAPEC’s petroleum companies and review of their performance and outcomes throughout the year.
