BNGEC and JGC Sign EPC Contract for Gas Facility
Under the patronage of Minister of Oil His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company (BNGEC) signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth $98.7 million with JGC Gulf International, a subsidiary of Japan Gas Corporation (JGC), Japan, to construct additional storage and pipeline facility.
The agreement was signed on behalf of BNGEC by H.E. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) and Mr. Yuji Tanaka, CEO of JGC Gulf International during the ceremony held on October 4, 2016 at Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The construction work for the second EPC will soon be underway and is expected to be completed in 24 months, with the commissioning of the overall BGP project expected by the end of 2018.
Earlier, in January this year, BNGEC and JGC had signed an EPC contract for the establishment of the third gas plant in the Bahrain Field, an agreement worth 355 million US dollar.
The signing of this agreement was a continuation of the distinguished relations with Bahrain over the past years enjoyed by JGC Corporation and its prestigious high reputation in the global oil industry over the past decades.
