Energy Minister Receives Banagas Board Members
Minister of Energy, H.E. Dr. Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, received in his office at NOGA headquarters Mrs.Wedad Mohamed Al Maskati, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) and Mr. Tadao Takahashi - President and CEO of JGC Gulf in the presence of Banagas Board members and Executive Management.
The Minister congratulated Banagas and JGC for signing an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) agreement for a new Compressor Station, including gas gathering and transmission lines, for a value of $42.4 Million.
The new Compressor Station will be designed to compress and deliver about 60 MMSCFD of a mixture of Associated and Refinery Off Gas.
The new Compressor Station will help ensure continuous handling of up to 310 MMSCFD of Associated and Refinery Off Gas and enable Banagas to comply with the National Oil and Gas Authority directive of "no flaring and no venting".
Mechanical work on the project is expected to be completed in 22 months with commissioning and startup in August 2013.
