NOGA Organizes Risk Management Training Workshop
The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) on March 6 organized a workshop for its employees, as part of its training program, in coordination with the nogaholding company. The Petrofac training workshop for the NOGA staff was entitled ‘Enterprise Risk, Business Continuity and Disaster Management’.
The workshop was conducted by international expert and specialist Mr. James Roaders, who gave an elaborate explanation of the importance of the three topics at the outset, highlighting accidents caused due to disregarding regulations and important concepts in organizations, particularly in the corporate sector, oil and gas, petrochemicals and government agencies. The international expert also discussed the types of international certification approved in this region and their differences. He explained that there were other certifications such as health and safety management, environmental management and quality management. He pointed out that the integration of the six certificates reflected the strength of a company, was proof of its sustainability and ability to adapt to emergency events and changes. Mr. Roaders said that only a few international companies have had a chance to get all six certifications, including the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).
At the end of the workshop, Mr. Ali A. Jabar Al Sawad, General Manager of Strategies and Planning Affairs at NOGA presented a memento to the participants. He praised the impressive attendance at the workshop. He wished success to all participants and advised employees to make the most of all training programs being organized for them by NOGA.
