Oil and Environment Minister Visits Bahrain Falcons Centre

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, highlighted Bahrain's keenness on continuing to develop policies and legislation that regulate the protection of the environment and wild life, in line with sustainability development goals.

He affirmed the importance of raising awareness on preserving biodiversity and providing a safe environment for wildlife, in line with efforts to enhance Bahrain's position in global environmental action.

The minister today visited Bahrain Falcons Centre where he was briefed on the centre's  activities and the care they provide for falcons.

Dr. Bin Dainah said the kingdom's interest in preserving wildlife reflects its commitment to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals

Khalid Al Qassimi, owner of Bahrain Falcons Centre, said different varieties of falcons leave in conservatories at the centre where they are protectd, bred and hybridized.

Al Qassimi thanked the minister for supporting projects that aim to provide care for rare birds and protect wildlife. He also commended the role of the Supreme Council for Environment and Al Areen Wildlife Park and Reserve in protecting rare species of animals.
