He commended the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, for her care and attention to all national talents and competencies.
This came on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day 2024, held this year under the theme “Women: A Worthy Partner in Nation-Building”. His Excellency the Minister expressed pride in the achievements of Bahraini women across all fields, especially in the political and diplomatic arenas, supported by the Supreme Council for Women.
He added that the representation of women in the Shura Council has reached 25%, with the appointment of 10 women to the Council, while their presence in the House of Representatives has risen to 20% compared to previous years, with the current House including 8 elected women. This is an important indicator of citizens’ trust in women’s role and competence in decision-making. He affirmed the continued focus on female talents and competencies, particularly within the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, where women constitute 41% of total staff across various leadership and functional levels, thanks to opportunities enabling women to demonstrate their qualifications and capacities to act as a primary driver of the Kingdom’s development and progress.
His Excellency the Minister also confirmed his support for all initiatives and events that elevate the status of Bahraini women, making them a model to be emulated in national and international forums.
