Tatweer Central Control Facility Opens in Bahrain Field
HE Dr. Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Energy has opened Tatweer Petroleum new interim Central Control Facility yesterday. The Facility is located at Jabel Office in the Bahrain Field near Well No. 1 and the opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ed Hanley, Tatweer Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Adel Khalil AlMoayyed, Deputy CEO along with other Tatweer Management Officials.
After one year of preparation, design and construction, the new Central Control Facility has now been commissioned. This new facility will greatly facilitate the management of the Bahrain Oil Field operations as Tatweer expands the oil & gas production and injection facilities. This is the first step in moving all associated operations within the oil and gas production and the injection of water and steam to a central location where the entire team can confer and coordinate operational management on a daily basis.
The Central Control room will initially provide 24 hours monitoring of all production and injection wells in the field, critical operational aspects of all facilities including tank batteries, well manifolds, injection facilities, compression and electrical distribution. The 24 hours monitoring of all field operations will provide for eliminating and minimizing upsets at the facilities, identifying problem conditions, and quicker response in the event of emergency, all resulting in a much more efficient organization and potentially a more productive operation.
After the opening ceremony HE Dr. Mirza said: “The commissioning of this interim Central Control Facility is the beginning of a new phase of operation in the Bahrain Field and we are proud to see Tatweer Petroleum on the leading edge of this technology and bringing an increased level of monitoring and automation to this operation.”
Tatweer CEO, Dr. Ed Hanley commented on the event saying; “We are very excited to announce the completion of this new Central Control Facility which will help us monitoring all field operations 24/7. Eventually this facility will be moved to a future permanent facility which will also include the non - associated gas operations currently located in the Central Gas Dehydration Facility.”
